Parliamentary delegation visiting Germany Kathmandu, May 8: A 12-member delegation of parliamentarians and jurists is leaving for Germany Friday on a familiarization cum exposure visit that will last 15 days, an announcement said. The delegation members will mainly interact with Free Democratic Party members and discuss German politics and government, Nepal Law Society said. Legislators from the ruling Nepali Congress party, the main opposition Nepal Communist party ( Unified Marxist Leninist), Rashtriya Prajatantra party, Nepal Sadbhavana party and two office bearers of the Nepal Law Society are delegation members. Visiting Regional Director of the ILO Yasuyuki Nodera gave the assurance at a meeting with Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala Monday. There are an estimated 2.66 million child labourers in Nepal. The ILO has selected Nepal as one of three countries to eliminate child labour under a time bound programme. " Nepal will complete the project no matter how difficult the task," Koirala later said.The project will take three years to complete. In the name of Maoists, professional thugs Saturday night decamped with money and goods worth nearly Rs.1.3 million from a shopping complex in the heart of the capital. The thugs overpowered a guard at Shiva Arcade, smashed locked doors of Fewa Money Exchange from where they looted Rs.8 million, an official at the money exchange counter said. The thugs also smashed locked doors of Golden Group and another shop in the Arcade in Basantapur Square. Police Monday were continuing interrogation of a guard who has been arrested. "Preliminary indications are that the guard was negligent," Janasewa police said.
