According to published reports, Parks said, "We would like to request the King to instruct the concerned Ministry for the formulation of laws that could pave the way to bring back the Nepalis who are serving jail terms in Thailand." The Prisoner Transfer and Exchange Treaty (PTET) Committee Nepal has submitted a petition for an audience with the King to rescue the Nepalis serving jail terms in Thailand. Nepalis have been serving jail terms in Thailand on charges of drug trafficking. As many as eight Nepalis are serving life sentences in Thailand while 25 others are serving 25-year jail terms. The Maoists kidnapped the five persons with the view to recruit them in the peoples' army, relatives of the victims informed the Chyangthapu security post. Those abducted were Buddhi Begha, Kumari Begha, Dila Begha, Durga Begha and Manjeeta Begha. A team of security personnel from the Chyangthapu security post has been mobilized to look for the five persons, according to the Paanchthar district police. The village is situated 24 kms north of district headquarters. The disease spread in wards seven, eight and nine of the VDC from the first week of Baishak. The tractor was transporting goods from Kharsaticket of Rupandehi district to Rampur in adjoining Palpa district. The tractor fells off a road after the tractor's trolley became unstable. Those killed in the accident were Dhani Ram Tharu, driver of the tractor from Bhujauli VDC in Rupandehi district, Raju Tiwari of Rupandeshi Kharsaticket and Lal Bahadur Thakuri from Dandakot VDC in Palpa district. The three Korean climbers were identified as: Mu Taek Par, 34, Bong Yeul Lee, 35, Sang Hyok Kwon, 24, and the Sherpa guide was Nuri Tsheri Sherpa, 33. The 2003 Korean expedition is led by Sang Wong Chung. A Japanese team was the first to climb the peak through the difficult west face this spring.
