CARE Nepal country director dies in Thailand tsunami

Robin Needham, country director of CARE Nepal died in Thailand in Sunday’s tidal waves that followed a devastating earthquake off Sumatra's coast in Indonesia, officials at the CARE Nepal said.
According to the officials at the CARE Nepal, Needham’s family who were also holidaying with him were rescued off the island from the Golden Buddha beach in Southern Thailand.
Needham worked with the CARE Nepal since 1998 and was born on 1953 in England. He is survived by a wife and four children.
A founder director of CARE, UK, Needham worked with CARE for 24 years holding several positions in countries like Thailand, Somalia, Kenya, United Kingdom, Bangladesh, Ethiopia and Nepal, a press communiqué sent to Nepalnews by the CARE Nepal said Thursday afternoon.
