Govt discloses status of 90 missing
persons
The government Monday made public the status of 90 people believed
to have gone missing involuntarily.
A committee headed by Home Ministry joint secretary Keshab Raj
Ghimire formed to look into disappearance cases submitted its
report to Home Minister Dan Bahadur Shahi at the ministry today.
According to the investigation report, 16 persons were released
by security authorities after inquiry while five persons were
released after house arrest and 65 persons are in custody. The
report also states that four of the said 90 people were killed
in encounters with security personnel in different times.
Earlier, the government had made public the status of 580 missing
