King unveils 10-member cabinet
His Majesty King Gyanendra Bir Bikram Shah Dev issued the order of a 10-member council of ministers under his chairmanship on Wednesday.

The release issued by the press secretariat of His Majesty stated that the Council of Ministers and the portfolios are as follows.

Dr Tulsi Giri - Vice Chairman Minister for Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs; Water Resources, Land and Transport Management; Forest and Soil Conservation; and Science and Technology.
Kirtinidhi Bista - Vice Chairman Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies; Agriculture and Cooperatives; Population and Environment; Physical Planning and Works, and Health.

Ramesh Nath Pandey

Minister for Foreign Affairs

Radhakrishna Mainali

Minister for Education and Sports

Krishnalal Thakali

Minister for General Administration

Buddhi Raj Bajracharya

Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation

Other portfolios not mentioned in the above list of the Council of Ministers will be announced later, the press release said and added that His Majesty the King has expressed hope that the Council of Ministers will work for the betterment of Nepalis and will receive cooperation from all.

Oath of nine ministers administered

His Majesty King Gyanendra Bir Bikram Shah Dev administered the oath of office to 9 members of the newly formed council of ministers at the Narayanhiti Royal Palace in Kathmandu on Wednesday evening.

Crown Prince Paras, Chairman of the Raj Parishad standing Committee Parashu Narayan Chaudhari and others were present on the occasion.

Minister for Women, Children and Social Welfare, Durga Shrestha, was not present on the occasion. nepalnews.com pd Feb 02 05
