Two Maoists arrested in India

Two CPN (Maoist) cadres were arrested in the bordering Indian state of Bihar Saturday, agency reports said Sunday.

Bihar police arrested the Maoist cadres, whose names are not disclosed, from Kishanganj, a bordering town in Bihar, according to Press Trust of India.

Both the Maoist cadres are from Jhapa district, the report said stating nothing about the extradition of the Maoists.

Meanwhile, the Nepal-India borders have been sealed off until Monday in view of security threat during the assembly polls in Bihar beginning today. Police officials said the transportation along the southern borders has been restricted while people coming from and going to India are being strictly monitored.

At a meeting last week, security officials of Nepali bordering districts and the Bihar state had reached an agreement to seal the borders for two days. nepalnews.com mbk Feb 13 05
