HSEB decision to remove Nepali reversed

Following protests from students, teachers and intellectuals, the Higher Secondary Education Board (HSEB) has withdrawn its decision to remove Nepali as a compulsory subject from grade 11.

According to reports, the joint meeting of the HSEB and the curriculum development committee Thursday withdrew its earlier decision to remove compulsory Nepali from grade 11.

Earlier, authorities had decided to remove compulsory Nepali from grade 11 and introduce the subject in grade 12 from this academic year.
