Security tightened up at Nepal-India border
The Shasastra Seema Bal (SSB)—an Indian para-military force—has tightened security along the Bardiya district of mid-western region following reports that some Maoist leaders and guerrillas have entered in the bordering forests.
Kantipur daily quoted chief of Murtiha unit of SSB, Sharavan Kumar, as saying that a search operation was underway to nab the insurgents.
The tightening in security along the Nepal-India border follows reports that Maoist insurgents had smuggled in a huge cache of arms from the bordering villages.
The SSB has also asked all of its posts in the region to remain in a state of high-alert, the news report said. nepalnews.com by July 09 05
