According to the student leaders, students have decided to hand over a memorandum to the authorities at the state-owned Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) protesting the hike in the price of cooking gas (LPG).

The NOC, Tuesday, raised the price of cooking gas by Rs 100 per cylinder making the new price Rs 900 per cylinder.

The students’ union has also decided to hold joint meetings with detained leaders including former prime minister Sher Bahadur Deuba.

Moreover, on July 1, they have planned to carryout torch rallies defying prohibitory orders in Kathmandu and other parts of the country. Similarly on July 7, they have decided to burn effigies of the ‘autocratic regime’.
