NHRC urges Maoists to immediately release Chand
The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has urged the Maoists for immediate and unconditional release of Arun Chand, son of former Prime Minister Lokendra Bahadur Chand and executive director of Bashuling Sugar Mills.
A statement issued by the NHRC today said that the commission received information that the Maoists abducted him on October 27 from Chuha village development committee of Kailali district.
The NHRC also asked the Maoists to respect humanitarian laws and people’s right to live independently.
