MoLTM cautions foreign job seekers
After rise in the incidents of cheating of some manpower companies sending labourers in Korea, the Ministry of Labour and Transport Management (MoLTM) has requested the general public not to go after rumours being spread by some irresponsible persons that South Korea has provided quotas for Nepali trainee workers once again.
The ministry has made the request in the context of information that some unscrupulous persons were misleading the people by spreading rumours that quotas for trainee Nepalese workers have been or were being received from South Korea and have also collected money for the purpose of sending workers to that country, saying they would send them to South Korea even from India if not from Nepal, according to the state-run Rastriya Samachar Samiti.
The ministry has also warned of stern action against individuals and companies who collect money with the promise of sending workers to South Korea in the context of such quotas not received from that country.
It also stated that the people would be given information if such quotas were received from South Korea.
Korea is the centre of attraction for Nepali foreign job seekers as they were highly paid there. nepalnews.com pb Mar 01 06
