Limbuwan in extortion drive
The Limbuwan State Council has intensified extortion drive compelling the eight party representatives to register stiff protests in Damak of Jhapa district.
The Council has demanded donations from the local entrepreneurs ostensibly "to help the movement for the establishment of Limbuwan province."
Businessmen and entrepreneurs have complained the extortion drive. They are said to have been asked to part with Rs 2000 to Rs 100,000 as donation.
In a joint statement, the eight party representatives including Maoist leader have appealed to all not to abide with extortion demands.
Meanwhile, in Ilam district, Maoist cadres themselves are engaged in demanding donations from local development projects. They have asked for Rs 200,000 donation from workers who had gone to Maikhola to build a bridge there. They have made similar demands with other projects also.
