Mahato faction files application for party registration
The disgruntled faction of Nepal Sadbhavana Party (NSP) led by former minister Rajendra Mahato has, on Friday, filed an application at the Election Commission (EC) for registration of a new party under the same name but with 'arrow' as an election symbol.
Accepting the EC's last week's decision to award the official recognition of NSP to the faction led by Anandidevi Singh, the Mahato faction had filed an application for the registration of a party in this manner so as to differentiate it from the parent party.
The new party led by Rajendra Mahato as its chairman has Laxman Lal Karna as deputy-chairman, Narsingh Chaudhari and Ram Narayan Yadav as vice-presidents and Anil Kumar Jha as general secretary. nepalnews.com ag Dec 15 07
