NC district presidents urge clear position on monarchy
District presidents of the Nepali Congress (NC) have asked the party leadership to maintain clear position on monarchy as early as possible so that it would be easier for them to face the electorate in constituent assembly election.
Speaking during the ongoing meeting of district presidents at the party headquarters in Sanepa on Sunday they stressed that the party must take a clear decision on monarchy before going for constituent assembly polls.
About two dozen district presidents, who spoke today, also expressed worries about the failure to of implement the agreements and understandings reached between the seven political parties and the Maoists.
Most of the district presidents also criticised the inability of Home Minister Krisha Prasad Sitaula to improve the security situation in the country.
Central Working Committee member Narahari Acharya speaking on the occasion said the NC must opt for republic Nepal six months before the constituent assembly polls take place.
