YCL abducts former Rajparishad member

Cadres of Maoist aligned Young Communist League (YCL) abducted Dwarika Man Singh Pradhan, a former member of the now-defunct Rajparishad, late Thursday night from Dolakha district.

Pradhan who had gone to visit his ancestral place Dolakha with a Buddhist monk was abducted at 11:30 in the night from a lodge, family sources said.

A group of about a dozen YCL activists had barged inside Tripura Guest House in Bimeshwor Municipality where Pradhan was staying and forcefully took him to an undisclosed location.

Owning up the responsibility for this, Maoist district committee has said that Pradhan was abducted because he was a royalist. However, details regarding Pradhan’s condition and whereabouts haven’t been revealed. nepalnews.com ag Nov 02 07
