Parliamentary panel instructs govt to take action against Shah's abductors
The parliamentary probe panel has submitted its report on the abduction of Bara-based journalist Birendra Shah to the Speaker Subas Nemwang through the House committee.
Submitting the report to the Parliamentary Committee on Human Rights and Social Justice, panel coordinator Urmila Aryal has asked the government to take action against Shah's abductors.
The panel has named abductors of Shah and has concluded that Maoists were behind his abduction. It has named Lal Bahadur Chaudhary, Kundan Faujdar, Ram Ikbal Sahani and Hareram Patel as guilty in the abduction. Chaudhary used to be local people's government chief of the Maoists while others are local Maoist workers.
Shah had been abducted a month ago but his whereabouts are still unknown.
Although Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala and Maoist chairman Prachanda had both assured the family of Shah that they will make public his whereabouts within three days, they are yet to fulfill their promise. nepalnews.com sd nov 03 07
