Nepse gains 29.53 pts
Opening after a long Dashain holiday break, the stock market posted a rise of 29.53 points over the week to close at 887.5 points on Thursday.
Although trade analysts attributed the growth mostly to speculative buying and said the prices are grossly inflated, buyers have quoted shares at higher prices.
The data of Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) shows that its index opened at 858.06 points to close at 887.5 points.
Over the week, 263,135 unit shares changed hands in the bourse over the turnover of Rs 272.6 million. The total turnover was Rs 188.6 million a week earlier.
Group-wise shared trading data shows that the financial sector – commercial banks, finance companies and insurance companies – were the gainers this week while hydropower sector experienced a fall. Manufacturing and trading groups did not see any major change. nepalnews.com ag nov 04 07
