NAJA shocked by reports of Shah's murder

The Nepal America Journalist Association (NAJA) has said it was shocked to read reports that journalist Birendra Shah was killed soon after the Maoists abducted him from Bara district a month ago.

In a statement, NAJA president Girish Pokhrel condemned the possible murder of Shah and strongly demanded the government to take legal action against those involved in it.

NAJA condemned the Maoists for not renouncing violence despite their commitments to the peace process that started around one-and-half years ago.

NAJA said the government and party involved in the incident should take responsibility for protection of the family of Shah and ensure that such incidents do not occur in the future. nepalnews.com ia Nov 05 07
