PM to use Nepal Sambat in official letter pad

Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala has said that he will start using Nepal Sambat (Nepal Era) in his official letter pad.

During his meeting with Nepal Bhasa Manka Khala representatives on Monday, PM Koirala expressed his commitment to use the Nepal Era 'since it belongs to all Nepalis.'

He also urged for more studies to find out the history of Shankha Dhar Shakhwa, who introduced Nepal Sambat. He said the government will fund such research. At present, Nepal is using Bikram Sambat as official era.
