Prachanda gets 'raw meat gift' for Shah's murder
Enraged by the murder of their co-worker Birendra Shah by Maoist cadres, the journalists of Nuwakot district sent 'raw meat gift' to Maoist chairman Prachanda on Wednesday.
According to Annapurna Post daily, the journalists of the district sent the 'gift' in protest of the Maoists not helping in finding the dead body of murdered journalist Shah.
The daily quoted its local reporter as stating that journalists in Nuwakot perceived the denial of the Maoists to find the dead body the same as 'being eaten by the Maoists'.
Two pieces of chicken meat were packed and posted in the name of Pushpa Kamal Dahal, the real name for Prachanda. A letter stating that parcel has been sent to Dahal was also handed over to Maoist's district office.
The daily also reported that whereabouts of Mahendranagar based journalist Prakash Thakuri has not been know since he was abducted some four months ago.
Two people in a motorbike had taken Thakuri from his home. The journalist's wife Janaki had stated that one of the people who abducted Thakuri was a Maoist cadre by the name of Pom Lal Sharma. Police had arrested Sharma but he was later released. nepalnews.com ia Nov 08 07
