Journalist Shah's dead body found

Reports say police in Bara have recovered the dead body of journalist Birendra Shah on Thursday afternoon.

According to local journalist Gokul Ghorsaini, a police team recovered the body of Shah, which was buried on the ground, at around 1:30 p.m. from the forest between Sapahi and Kakari VDCs.

Police and the family members confirmed that it was Shah’s body, as they identified the cloths he was wearing when he was kidnapped by the Maoist cadres. Police officials inspected the body for almost an hour before confirming it.

The body was discovered some 2-km north of the place pointed out by the Maoist investigation report published on Monday. He was abducted a month ago from Pipara VDC by four Maoist cadres and was shot dead on the same day.

Police were yet to take the body for post-mortem by the time this report was prepared. nepalnews.com ia Nov 08 07
