King visits Kumari as a commoner
In the past years, the King used to be the first one to receive tika and blessings from Kumari – the living Goddess – on the occasion of last day of Indrajatra festival, but this year King Gyanendra – who has been stripped off all his political as well as cultural rights – visited Kumarighar in Basantapur as a commoner.
He came at around 9:30 pm on Sunday night – long after Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala visited Kumari in his capacity as acting Head of State.
Meanwhile, reports say that a group of people chanted pro-King slogans and raised voices against the PM in Basantapur area on Sunday night. nepalnews.com sd Oct 01 07
