MPC loses in the AFC President's Cup final
Although Mahendra Police Club (MPC) – the winner of Nepal's national league – lost in the final match of AFC President's Cup in Lahore, Pakistan on Sunday night, it created a history by becoming the first South Asian club to reach to the finals of the tournament.
The MPC lost 2-1 at the hands of Dordoi Dynamo of Kyrgyzstan. Azamat Ishanbaev and Roman Ablakimov of DD had scored for their team while Jumanu Rai scored a late goal for MPC in the match.
The MPC started their campaign in Lahore by a goalless draw with Tatung club of Chinese Taipei. It lost to DD 0-3 in the next match but won 6-4 against Khemera of Cambodia. In the semi-final, MPC defeated fancied Ragar Tadaz of Tajikistan 2-1.
