Martin meets Prachanda
UNMIN chief Ian Martin called on Maoist chairman Prachanda at the latter's residence in Nayabazar Thursday morning in an effort believed to be to convince the Maoist leaders to be soft on their demands.
During the meeting, which went on for half an hour, the two mainly discussed about the ongoing peace process and the upcoming constituent assembly election.
Maoist no.2 leader Dr. Baburam Bhattarai and Martin's deputy Tamrat Samuel were also present in the meeting.
The meeting came ahead of the crucial seven party meeting in Baluwatar to break the current political deadlock, which emerged after the Maoists stuck with their demands to change the election system for the November 22 polls. nepalnews.com ag Oct 04 07
