JTMM-J murders youth in Sarlahi

Cadres of Jwala Singh-led faction of Jantantrik Terai Mukti Morcha (JTMM-J) shot dead a youth at Ranigunj area in Sarlahi district Thursday evening.

Reports quoted eyewitnesses as saying that an armed group led by JTMM district coordinator Ranjit Yadav opened fire at Shankar Timilsina, a resident of Lalbandi-8, Ranigunj while he was returning home on his motorcycle from the local market. He died on the spot.

Police said the motive behind the killing was not immediately known, but said that they were in search of the assailants.

The two factions of JTMM have been engaged in targeted killings, abduction and extortion in parts of Terai. They have mostly targeted Pahades, people of hill origin, living in Terai. nepalnews.com ag Oct 05 07
