Maoists have hand in abduction of journalist: FNJ
The Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) has said Maoists have hand in abduction of Bara based journalist Birendra Shah.
In a statement Monday evening, FNJ general secretary Mahendra Bista said reports and information it received has confirmed Maoist hand in Shah's abduction.
FNJ said a few days earlier the Maoists had threatened Shah.
Two separate missions by FNJ and Informal Sector Service Centre (INSEC) held discussion with locals, rights activists and government officials.
In the meantime, FNJ district president Binod Pyakurel told Radio Sagarmatha on Tuesday morning that Maoist cadres Kundan Chaudari and Lal Bahadur Chaudhary are involved in Shah's abduction. However, the Maoists have denied their involvement in the incident.
The journalists on Monday organised rallies and demonstrations in various districts demanding immediate release of Shah. nepalnews.com ia Oct 09 07
