JTMM-Goit guns down VDC secretary in Bara

Cadres of the Jaya Krishna Goit led faction of Jantantrik Terai Mukti Morcha (JTMM-G) shot dead a Village Development Committee secretary in Bara district late Monday night.

The victim, Ram Babu Sharma Neupane, 50, was shot in his head and chest while he was returning to his home in Bakuliya village from Jitpur at 9 pm, police said. Immediately after the attack Neupane was rushed to Birgunj hospital where he was declared dead by the doctors.

JTMM-Goit district coordinator Birat claimed responsibility for Neupane’s murder over phone to a local radio station.

Meanwhile, another JTMM faction led by Jwala Singh abducted three civilians from Dharampur village in Rautahat district last night.

Police said a group of JTMM-J cadres had abducted Kul Prasad Gautam, Jay Prakash Gautam and Nilkantha Gautam of Chitwan while they were sleeping in the house of Bijay Chaudhary Monday night.

JTMM-J area in charge took the responsibility for the abduction of the trio who were in Rautahat to search for workers for their garment factory.

Reports said that JTMM-Jwala had phoned the abductees’ family in Chitwan and demanded Rs 2,00,000 ransom for the release of the three. nepalnews.com ag Oct 09 07
