Govt finally approves names of 27 secretaries
A meeting of the Council of Ministers held at the Prime Ministers’ residence in Baluwatar Thursday morning finally put a stamp of approval on the appointment of 27 government secretaries, a process which had been stalled for a long time due to various controversies and differences between the political parties.
The meeting took the decision to this effect after it chose 27 joint/acting secretaries among the 81 recommended by the Secretaries Promotion Committee (SPC) for the vacant posts of secretaries.
Those who have been promoted to secretaries are Shankar Prasad Koirala, Purna Prasad Kadariya, Rameshwor Prasad Khanal, Arbind Kumar Shrestha, Deep Bahadur Swar, Puroshottam Ojha, Shankar Prasad Pandey, Shyam Prasad Mainali, Baburam Acaharya and Baman Prasad Neupane.
Similarly, others joint secretaries promoted to the vacant posts are Uma Kant Jha, Ram Kumar Shrestha, Punya Prasad Sharma, Dr Govinda Prasad Kusum, Bajra Kishor Prasad Saha, Rameshwor Dubey, Balnanda Poudel, Brinda Hada, Tej Bahadur Thapa Gharti, Dr Ramhari Aryal, Lilamani Poudel, Gyanchandra Acharya, Sushil Bahadur Rana, Tana Gautam, Bhagwati Kumar Kafle, Chaviraj Panta and Dr Uday Raj Sharma.
Reports said there was also discussion about the special session of the parliament scheduled to begin today afternoon.
