Police arrest 4 accomplices of notorious Indian criminal in Birgunj

Four accomplices of notorious Indian criminal Munna Sharma, who had long been spreading terror among the locals and business community in the southern industrial town of Birgunj, were arrested by Nepal Police personnel on Friday from a remote location in Parsa district.

Organising a press meet on the same day, Narayani Zonal Police Office (NZPO) said the four - identified as Mohammed Rijwain of Raxaul of Raxaul (India) and Nanda Kishor Yadav, Sikandar Yadav and Dharmadev Mahato of Harpatgunj VDC of Parsa district - were involved in extortion from local businessmen in Birgunj including murder of two other persons as per the order of Sharma who is currently serving time in Indian jail.

Police said the four criminals have already confessed extorting from over 100 businessmen in Parsa district and had even channeled some of that money to Sharma inside the jail. Some amount of opium and other drugs were also seized from the four criminals. nepalnews.com ag Oct 13 07
