Maoists continue extortion

Members of the Maoist party have been extorting transport entrepreneurs for money.

The cadres say the donation is to support their movement. They have set up stops at several places along the Kathmandu-Manthali highway to collect money.

A driver told The Himalayan Times that he paid money at 24 different places on the Kathmandu-Manthali route on Monday. Different ethnic groups affiliated to the Maoist are enforcing donations.
