House adjourned after three-minute sitting, to resume on Oct 29
The special session of the interim parliament wrapped up its three-minute long sitting on Tuesday during which Speaker Subash Nemwang informed the parliamentarians that the House has been adjourned for almost two weeks.
Addressing the session late afternoon, though planned for 11 am, Speaker Nemwang said the house has been adjourned on the request of the party leaders who have been engaged in finding solution to the current political crisis for greater interest of the people and the country.
The Speaker also informed that the next sitting would be on October 29.
Before the sitting of the House, the parliamentary business committee meeting held at the parliamentary secretariat decided to accept the request from the seven party leaders.
The decision to adjourn the House was taken by the seven parties today after failing to reach a consensus on the demands put forward by the Maoists for republic through interim parliament and full proportional representative election system. nepalnews.com ia Oct 16 07
