Four die, over 20 injured in separate road mishaps

Four people have died and over 20 others injured in separate road accidents in various parts of the country in the last 24 hours.

At least thirteen people were injured when two buses coming from opposite direction collided at Khanikhola of Naubise section of the Prithvi Highway at 6 am today morning.

A bus with number plate Na 2 Kha 3187 heading to Morang from Kathmandu and another bus with number plate Na 2. Kha 7679 coming to Kathmandu from Rautahat’s Gaur had collided with each other.

The injured people were brought to Bir Hospital in Kathmandu by the Highway Emergency Service and are currently undergoing medical treatment. Among the injured, the condition of five is said to be very critical, reports said.

Similarly, five people were injured when a truck with number plate Na 1 Kha 9278 skidded off the road at Gairegaun of Makwanpur district at 1 am last night and fell some 200 meters into the ravine below. The truck carrying vegetables was coming to Kathmandu from Simbhanjyang of Makwanpur district.

Among the injured, condition of the driver Dil Bahadur Pal is said to be critical. The injured have been brought to Kathmandu by the Highway Emergency Service for medical treatment.

In another report, two people died and three were injured when a passenger bus heading to Krishnanagar from Butwal overturned near a bridge in Bandganga V.D.C of Mahendra Highway in Kapilvastu district yesterday night.

The deceased have not been identified till now.

The three who have been injured are currently undergoing medical treatment at the Lumbini Zonal Hospital.

Yesterday afternoon two persons were killed and three others critically injured when an ambulance met with a deadly accident near Dhulikhel in Kavre district.

The ambulance on its way to Dhulikhel from Kuntabesi, Kavre, skidded off the road and plunged into a gorge, killing a pregnant woman, who was being brought to Dhulikhel Hospital for treatment, and another person on the ambulance. nepalnews.com ag Oct 23 07
