Home Ministry asks prisoners to end hunger strike
The Home Ministry has appealed to the prisoners in different jails around the country to end their indefinite hunger strike.
Issuing a statement on Tuesday, the Home Ministry said the government was committed to implement the report submitted by High Level Recommendation Committee in connection with the demands of prisoners. The release also stated that the report would be made public by the Legislature Parliament immediately after the Dashain vacation.
The Ministry's appeal came amid growing concerns over the deteriorating health of the inmates, who have been staging hunger
strike for over a week now, demanding general amnesty. nepalnews.com mk Oct 24 07
