Maoists kidnap NC leader, whereabouts of abducted journo still unknown

A district-level leader of Nepali Congress (NC) has been abducted along with his two brothers and a nephew by Maoist cadres.

According to NC, Ashok Karki, former secretary of Okhaldhunga District Working Committee, along with his brothers Rana Bahadur and Dhan Bahadur and nephew, has been abducted.

The party has condemned the abduction and demanded their immediate safe release and action against the culprits.

Meanwhile, even after 20 days have passed since his abduction, the whereabouts of journalist Birendra Shah of Bara district remains unknown.
