Sept 2 ‘bomber’ dies during police chase
One of the accused of the serial blasts in Kathmandu on Sept 2 has died during a police chase in Rautahat district.
Mr. Khan who is suspected of carrying out the triple blasts, along with few others, drowned in the Bagmati River in Gamhariya VDC as he dived into the river while trying to flee the police chase Wednesday.
Police had been on the lookout for him after getting tip-offs that he was one of those involved in the blasts that occurred simultaneously at Tripureshwor, Balaju and Sundhara during evening rush hour.
Police have also launched manhunt for few other suspects including the ‘mastermind’ of the blasts, Kaushal Sahani alias Mr. John, the leader of a little known outfit called Terai Army.
Four persons accused of carrying out the blasts, who were taken into custody from different places in Kathmandu, were presented before the media on Sept 30.
