VDC secy abducted from Siraha; two others abducted from Saptari

A Village Development Committee (VDC) secretary has been abducted from Asanpur of Siraha district on Friday afternoon.

Jeewan Dhital, former secretary of Chandralalpur VDC, has been abducted by suspected cadres of Jwala Singh-led Janatantrik Terai Mukti Morcha (JTMM).

Family members said that Dhital had been receiving threatening calls and demands for donations. They have appealed to all concerned for his safe release.

Meanwhile, JTMM-Jwala Singh cadres have also abducted two persons, separately, from Saptari district on Thursday.

Ramdev Yadav, 25, of Rajbiraj was abducted from Paththargada VDC while Shibu Yadav, 40, was abducted from Belahi Chapana VDC.

The abductions have taken place even though Jwala Singh had recently stated that his organisation was ceasing all violent activities till Chhath festival. nepalnews.com sd Oct 26 07
