India to help curb cross border criminal activities, says Sitaula

Home Minister Krishna Prasad Sitaula has said that India has expressed commitment to help curb cross border criminal activities.

Talking to reporters after returning from New Delhi, where he attended SAARC Home Minister's conference, Sitaula said India wanted to see election held at the earliest in Nepal.

In New Delhi, Sitaula also held bilateral talks with Indian Union Home Minister Shivaraj Patil.

He said the SAARC conference discussed about taking common initiative to control terrorism in the region.

Sitaula added that the Second Meeting of SAARC Home Ministers held on October 25 decided to strengthen institutional mechanisms aiming to facilitate closer cooperation and more frequent interaction and regular exchange of information among the law enforcement agencies of member states to effectively combat terrorism and narcotics trafficking. nepalnews.com sd Oct 28 07
