Maoists form a committee to probe Shah's abduction
Faced with blistering criticism from all quarters, the Maoists have decided to form a committee to probe abduction of journalist Birendra Shah of Bara district.
According to Maoist spokesperson and former Information Minister, three-member committee led by Hari Bhakta Kandel, and including Prabhu Shah and Shila Yadav as members has been formed to find out the truth regarding Shah's abduction.
Mahara has also claimed that the party has already instructed its leaders and cadres in the district to identify the culprit and take proper action.
The whereabouts of Shah, who was abducted three weeks ago, remains unknown till date.
Various probe missions undertaken by the parliamentary panel, Federation of Nepalese Journalists, rights groups and Reporters' Club have concluded that local Maoist leaders are responsible for Shah's abduction.
