YCL announces protest programmes
Demanding unconditional release of their 43 comrades, the Maoist-affiliated Young Communist League (YCL) has announced protest programmes.
The YCL-Newa State Committee has unveiled series of protest programmes beginning Sunday.
Addressing a press meet, on Saturday, YCL's valley in-charge Sagar said that they would launch the agitation unless their 43 comrades who were arrested by police from different parts of the valley three weeks ago are released immediately.
As per their protest schedule, the YCL will hand over a petition demanding their release to the Home Minister on Sunday. On September 5, they will impose one-hour chakkajam (transport blockade) between 3 and 4 pm. Likewise, on September 7, they will impose three-hour chakkajam between 10 am and 1 pm. They plan to impose valley bandh on September 9 and indefinite strike in the valley from September 11.
"If the 43 detained are released, we will withdraw the agitation immediately," Sagar said. nepalnews.com sd Sep 02 07
