PLA combatants increase pressure on the govt
Dozens of PLA combatants came out of the cantonment of sixth division in Dasrathpur of Surkhet district on Monday and traveled to Birendranagar to picket the District Administration Office (DAO).
The combatants put forth 9-point demands including payment of their salaries, rations, allowances, health services and proper management of camps. They also demanded that they be treated at par with Nepali Army (NA).
According to division commander Pratik, they had to come out of the camp to demonstrate because the government had turned deaf ear to their genuine demands. He warned that they would be compelled to leave the camp if demands are not fulfilled soon.
In recent days, PLA combatants have stepped up their agitation by demonstrating and picketing administration to fulfill their demands. nepalnews.com sd Sep 25 07
