Deuba says Kishunji's remarks won't affect Congress anymore
Former prime minister and senior leader of unified Congress Sher Bahadur Deuba has said that recent remarks by founding Congress leader Krishna Prasad Bhattarai will not affect the party's policy.
Kishunji had issued a letter saying he would sever all his relation and contact with the party since it had adopted republican line.
Deuba, a one-time Bhattarai protégé, has distanced himself from his remarks.
Talking to reporters in the capital on Thursday, Deuba said that Nepali Congress is now a republican party and that it will not change its policy anymore.
He, however, said that he will make efforts to convince Kishunji to return back to the Congress fold.
Similarly, other leaders of the party, too, have downplayed Kishunji's remarks. Pradip Giri said Kishunji's life was filled with dissensions. nepalnews.com sd Sep 28 07
