Appellate court issues interim order asking pro-Maoist workers not to disrupt Kantipur
Appellate Court of Patan has issued an interim order asking the pro-Maoist workers not to disrupt the printing and distribution of newspapers of Kantipur Publication.
Judge Jagadish Sharma Poudel issued the order to the All Nepal Communication and Printing Publication Workers' Union, which is affiliated with the Maoists, not to obstruct the papers' publication.
In response to the petition filed by Kantipur Publication's Kailash Sirohiya, the court asked the Maoists not to put hindrance in printing and distribution of the newspapers. It also asked them not to put obstacle in collection of advertisements.
Further, the court told the union to stop rallying and demonstrating inside the publications compound.
The demonstration by the Maoist trade union led to the obstruction in the publication of the two dailies Kantipur and The Kathmandu Post on Friday. nepalnews.com sd/ia Sept 28 07
