Maoists demand special House session immediately

Maoists have demanded special parliament session be summoned immediately.

Issuing a joint statement on Sunday, Maoists as well as CPN (United) and Unified Leftist Front have asked that the special session of the House must be summoned immediately in order to declare republic and make constitutional provisions for proportional representation election system.

The three parties had registered a petition demanding the special session on September 28.

In the statement, the Maoists have said that declaration of republic and PR election system were vital before the Constituent Assembly election can be held.
