UML gen secy loses to CPN-M candidate in Kathmandu-2; NWPP takes both constituencies in Bhaktapur (1:45pm)

Another surprising result has come from Kathmandu constituency-2 where CPN-UML general secretary Madhav Kumar Nepal has lost to CPN-Maoist candidate Jhakku Prasad Subedi.

Subedi beat Nepal by 1534 votes, securing a total of 13858 votes. Nepali Congress candidate Deepak Kuinkel came in the third position with 11543 votes.

Maoist cadres took out victory rallies in Ratnapark and Pradarsani Marg as soon as the results were out.

Meanwhile, Nepal Workers and Peasants Party (NWPP) chairman Narayanman Bijukchhe has won the election from Bhaktapur -1 with 19889 votes. NWPP's Sunil Prajapati also came out victorious in Bhaktapur-2. nepalnews.com mk Apr 12 08
