EU delegation meets PM Koirala
Visiting European Union (EU) delegation met Prime Minister Girija Prasad
Koirala Monday morning and discussed the post-election scenario of the
country.
During the meeting held at PM Koirala's official residence in Baluwatar,
Jan Mulder, former head of the European Parliament, congratulated the
Nepal government and the people for the success of the Constituent
Assembly election and promised its continued assistance and support to the
peace process and development here.
The post-election scenario also featured prominently during the meeting,
it is learnt.
According to Aditya Baral, PM's foreign affairs advisor, the EU delegation
was satisfied that the election was held in a "peaceful and fearless
environment".
Meanwhile, Japan's Ambassador to Nepal Tatsuo Mizuno called on Maoist
chairman Prachanda at the latter's residence in Nayabazaar this morning.
Details of the discussion have not been made public. However, it has been
known that their discussion focused on Nepal-Japan relations in a new
