Maoists garner one-third votes in PR; NC and UML follow as counting continues
The Maoists have continued their huge lead in the ongoing counting of votes under the Proportional Representation (PR) system.
According to the Election Commission (EC), of the total 45,95,054 votes counted till Wednesday afternoon, the Maoists have pocketed 32.41 percent with 14,89,300 votes.
The Nepali Congress (NC) is in second place with 10,04,445 followed by Unified Marxist Leninist (UML) at 10,02,626. NC and UML have garnered 21.86 and 21.82 percent, respectively.
The Madhesi Janadhikar Forum (MJF) has bagged 153,926 votes to stand in fourth place. Its overall vote percentage stands at 3.35 percent.
The Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) stands at fifth place with 128,328 votes. It has pocketed 2.79 percent.
