No law yet for CA members to take oath
The results of the constituent assembly elections are likely to be finalised in a few days and the first sitting of the assembly is to be convened within 21 days of the announcement of the results. However, there are no laws for the assembly members to take oath.
Tanka Panta writes in Nepal Samacharpatra daily, that the current interim House failed to recognise the need of laws for taking oath of the assembly members once they are elected.
Article 68 of the interim constitution states that the CA members should take oath on the first sitting of the constituent assembly.
The newspaper quotes officials of the parliament secretariat as saying that it would be appropriate if the government brings the law through ordinance rather than calling another session of the Legislative Parliament.
