ANNISU-R asks school managements to stop collecting exorbitant fees
The Maoist student wing, All Nepal national Independent Students Union-Revolutionary (ANNISU-R), has warned both government and private schools against collecting high amount of fees from students.
Organising a press conference in Kathmandu Saturday, ANNISU-R chairman Lekh Nath Neupane said that students would launch protest if the school operators continued to charge high amount of fees.
He further said the government schools should admit students free of cost until there is a new government, and urged the parents and the students not to pay any fee to government schools for admission.
Accusing the private school operators of unilaterally increasing the fees up to 20 percent, Neupane said the school operators should follow the 19-point agreement reached with the student groups last year.
The ANNISU-R has also formed a 15-member committee led by general secretary Himal Sharma to monitor the admission process in both government and private schools. nepalnews.com kp Apr 19 08
