Don’t join new govt: NSU tells NC
The student wing of Nepali Congress (NC), Nepal Students Union (NSU) has asked NC not to join the new government to be formed after the first meeting of Constituent Assembly (CA).
The NSU has urged NC to play a constructive role in drafting of democratic constitution by remaining outside of the government.
The student wing has concluded that since the election mandate has gone in favour of the Maoists, the NC should come out of the government and support the process of writing the constitution.
Following an informal meeting of NSU, its president Pradeep Poudel said NC should pull out of the government after the first meeting of CA.
The Central Working Committee (CWC) meeting of NC to begin from Thursday is expected to discuss and decide the issue of NC’s joining the new government, which is largely expected to be led by the Maoists. nepalnews.com sd Apr 21 08
