India's External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee could visit Nepal immediately after the formation of new government in Kathmandu, according to Indian media reports.

The reports also say that India is taking diplomatic initiatives to invite Maoist chairman Prachanda for India visit following his party's win in the recent Constituent Assembly (CA) election.

Meanwhile, Indian ambassador to Nepal Shiv Shanker Mukherjee is returning to New Delhi on April 23 after wrapping up his four-year-tenure in Kathmandu.

He will be replaced by ambassador-designate Rakesh Sood, who will arrive in the capital on April 24. nepalnews.com sd Apr 22 08
